Making nut butter from scratch if highly rewarding and cheaper than buying natural nut butter youself. Pluuus you can customize the heck out of it! If you are "newer" to this blog, I would encourage you to check out my post on Chocolate Pecan Butter. It is dangerously good. This particular recipe is also phenomenal and more practical for day to day use. Spread it on toast, have it in a sandwich, in a Green Monster, with Overnight Oats or with a banana or apple (my favorite way).
2 cups whole raw almonds
3 tbs pure maple syrup
3 tbs flax seeds (whole)
2 tbs chia seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 300F. Mix almonds, flax, chia seeds, and syrup until well incorporated. Spread evenly over parchment on a baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, "stirring" at the 15 minute mark.
Makes approx 1 1/4 cups (10 servings).
