Indian Fry Bread
4 1/4 cup flour (I used whole wheat, but you may want to use all purpose or half )
2 tbs soy milk powder
1 tbs baking powder
dash of sea salt
1 1/2 cup very warm water
Canola oil for frying
Optional Toppings:
(Savory) (Sweet)
Vegetarian refried beans Vegan butter
Vegan cheese Cinnamon sugar
Salsa Honey (not technically vegan)
Jalapenos
Avocado
Black olives
Lettuce
Tomato
Directions
Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Add the water and mix until the dough starts to get tacky. Then Knead the dough until all (or as close to all as possible) of the flour is incorporated. If you are having trouble incorporating all the flour, add warm water 1 tsp at a time. It is much drier if you use whole wheat. Cover with a damp paper towel and let sit for 30 minutes.
