Whether it be too much butter, not enough cinnamon, the wrong kind of flour...you name it, I wasn't satisfied with it. I'm only bringing you the best...but so they don't totally go to waste, here are a few snapshots of my failed attempts:
Cinnamon Rolls
May vaguely resemble a recipe from Vegan Yum Yum
Ingredients
Rolls:
1 packet active dry yeast (scant 2 tsp)
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 c very warm water
1/2 cup almond (or other nondairy) milk
1/4 cup + 1 tbs agave nectar
1/4 cup + 1 tbs earth balance vegan butter
pinch of sea salt
2 cup pastry flour
2 cup spelt flour (plus more for kneading)
canola oil (for coating a bowl or baggie)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbs + 1 tsp cinnamon
1-2 tbs almond milk
cooking spray
1/4 cup earth balance, melted
Cream Cheese Icing: 1/4 cup vegan cream cheese
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
scant 1 tbs fresh lemon juice
scant 1 tbs vanilla extract
Maple Icing: 2 tbs pure maple syrup
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tbs vanilla extract
1 tbs fresh lemon juice
Chocolate Icing: 3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup + 2 tbs cocoa powder
2 tbs almond milk
1 tbs vanilla extract
1/2 tbs cinnamon
Peanut Butter Icing: 1/4 cup natural creamy peanut butter
1 cup + 2 tbs powdered sugar
2 tbs almond milk
1 tbs vanilla extract
Directions
Whisk first three ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside and let mixture foam up.
