What I Eat on the Road...
- Eggplant dishes
- Tofu dishes
- Veg, Bean, & Grain Dishes
- Starbucks (Iced Soy Latte with 1-pump Toffee Nut)
- Oreos (I've had wayyyy too many of these...)
- Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish (I have a huge sweet tooth...)
- Almonds (Blue Diamond sells them in MASSIVE 1 lb packs now!)
- Nut Butter packets & bananas (FAVE!)
- Oatmeal (I'm especially partial to Quaker's Real Medleys. Careful! Not every flavor is vegan...)
- Green smoothies (No joke...found them at a tiny natural food shop in Valdosta, GA!)
- Vegan Ice cream/Dairy-free froyo
- Probars/Larabars/Kind Bars etc...
Basically any time I can find a natural foods store (surprisingly not that hard in the south if you have internet...) I raid it like no other for vegan snacks; and any time I go out to eat or peruse the free breakfast at whatever hotel I'm in, I order a veggie-packed dish or reach for fruit and oatmeal.
If you really look hard enough, you can find lots of vegan-friendly options in the most unlikely places! Red Robin carries vegan BOCA burgers...at Texas Roadhouse I can get a delish sweet potato, steamed broccoli and carrots, and their signature rolls (minus the butter)...and any type of foreign fare is usually suuuper veg-friendly. Just do your research before you travel and you may surprise yourself!
Will I say my nutrition is perfect this summer? No. Far from it. I know I have a lot of correcting to do to get by body back to where it was the day I ran the BolderBoulder...however I know I am a lot better off than I would be if I was consuming meat and dairy.
This is Crew K. I have been traveling and working with these three all summer and they have graciously put up with all of my vegan shenanigans :)
What I Jam to on the Road...
